On Wednesday, June 1st 2022, Mr Yiannis Misirlis, Deputy Chairman of the Land and Building Developers Association (LBDA) and Mrs Mersina Isidorou, General Manager of the LBDA, visited the premises of The Cyprus Institute in Nicosia.
Hosting the meeting was The Cyprus Institute President, Professor Costas Papanicolas, in the presence of CyI Assistant Vice President of Policy and Internal Communications, Eleni Sophocleous, CyI Assistant Vice President of Strategy and Development, Konstantinos Kleovoulou, Adjunct Professor, Despina Serghides, CyI Professor Salvatore Carlucci, Scientific Coordinator of EMME-CCI, Dr Christiana Katti, and STARC Assistant Professor Dr Georgios Artopoulos.
Following a welcome coffee session, the LBDA delegation was given a guided tour of selected laboratories of The Cyprus Institute including the Linear Fresnel laboratory, the Unmanned Systems Research Laboratory (USRL) and the Visualisation and Imaging Laboratory.
Following the tour, Professor Costas Papanicolas, and Mrs Eleni Sophocleous delivered a brief presentation on the Institute’s profile, mission, numerous scientific and educational activities and achievements, that was followed by a discussion. Both sides pledged to join efforts for close cooperation and the LBDA delegation expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to visit, and congratulated the Administration and the Scientists of the Institute for the impressive facilities and research achievements.
