Cohesion Policy Conference on Engaging Citizens: Registration Open

Registration is now open for a high-level conference on engaging citizens and civil society in Cohesion Policy. The event will take place in Brussels on 6 February 2020.

The event is organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO), with the intention to bring together politicians, policy-makers and academia from across the EU to discuss how to foster cooperation with citizens and civil society and give them a more prominent role in implementation of EU-funded projects and dissemination of results. The key questions to be addressed during the event are:

  • How can citizens and civil society contribute to good governance in EU Cohesion Policy?
  • How do we bring Cohesion Policy closer to citizens?
  • What are the experiences from cooperation between authorities and citizens across Europe?

The event will consist of a number of plenary sessions, individual workshops on various themes and will culminate in a high-level political debate.
