As of 1st July 2012, the Digital Agenda of the EU will be managed by the European Commission Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT), which replaced the DG for Information Society & Media (DG INFSO).
According to Robert Madelin, Director General, the new name better represents the range of topics where the DG is active, and the new structure better aligns the work of the DG with key EU policies for the coming decade: ensuring that digital technologies can help deliver the growth which the EU needs.
