20 years ago all countries belonging to the European Union created a single market. This meant removing the obstacles blocking the free movement of goods, people, services and capital among them. Celebrating the 20 years of single market, the Generation 1992 Creative Competition of the European Commission invites young European citizens born between 1 January and 31 December 1992 to speak creatively about their understanding of the European single market, their opinions and expectations for the future, and to tell their stories and experiences related to the European single market.

Entrants can submit an original essay, video, photograph, cartoon or smart phone application and can chose to focus on one of four categories: education and citizenship; jobs and entrepreneurship; culture and leisure and consumers and environment. The deadline for submission of entrances is open until 9 September 2012.
