AGLANTZIA MUNICIPALITY

Aglantzia Municipality shares borders with the Municipality of Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. It is a bordeline municipality 31 square kilometres, of which 14 m2 is farm land occupied by the turkish troops since 1974. From the remaining 17 m2, 9m2 is national forestry land (the Athalassa park is 8,6 m2 and the peadagogical Academy park is 8,4m2)

Aglatzia is the highest suburb of Nicosia, since it is mostly built either on hills or hill sides or plains. Aglatzia was built during Medieval  years, before the Othoman rule, in a strategically important area, its natural resources and healthy climate.

The municipality has twinned with the municipality of Zografos and Kalamata in Greece, and the municipality of Azof in Russia. In short, at the Municipality of Aglantzia, Nature and people walk side by side with love and creativity.
