ERACON 2009
The ERACON 2009 Conference, the fifth in the row, was hosted by the University of Cyprus. The conference took place in Nicosia, Cyprus from 29th of April to 2nd of May.
More than 350 Erasmus Coordinators from all over Europe were joined together in Nicosia for the EAEC Annual Conference.
During the Erasmus Coordinators and other experts were invited to make presentations and submit written papers on their experiences in themes related to LLP/Erasmus and university-enterprises cooperation. Workshops and Sessions within the conference aim to discuss specific topics and to draw up concrete suggestions, which can be used by the EC (DG Education and Culture) in order to improve the LLP/Erasmus Programme in general. Amongst the speakers in ERACON 2009 were Mr Filip Van Depoele and Mr Renato Girelli, from the Unit of Higher Education Erasmus, DG Education and Culture, European Commission.
Go-Exchange Education Fair
The Conference is concluded with a two stage Go-Exchange Education Fair through which each university can provide information to other universities on the programmes of studies offered and arrangements for teacher and student mobility, as well as ERASMUS student placements and staff training opportunities. The Fair serves as a basis for further bilateral agreements between institutions and between institutions and enterprises. European enterprises are invited to participate in order to promote agreements for ERASMUS placements.
ERASMUS POSTER COMPETITION 2009
The 2009 Erasmus Poster Design Competition was organized during the ERACON 2009 and the posters were exhibited at the Go-Exchange Fair 2009.
The first prize was shared between the University of Almeria (Spain) and the University of Presov (Slovakia).
General Assembly 2009 has taken place during the ERACON 2009 Conference. The election procedure for the new Management Board 2009-2011 was held in the General Assembly.
