The University of Central Lancashire, Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus) is the only British University operating in Cyprus. It is located in Larnaka, in the area of Pyla. Its first academic year has commenced on2October 2012, offering premium British Higher Education within the Cyprus Educational framework and culture. It is a private University officially registered in the Registry of Private Universities of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus.All programmes of study are evaluated and recognised by the Ministry of Education and the Republic of Cyprus, and meet the high quality standards required by the UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA). They have been fully approved by the Evaluation Committee of Private Universities (ECPU) of Cyprus, which means that they are automatically fully recognised by the Cyprus Council for the Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications (KYSATS). UCLan Cyprus offers programmes of study which lead to degrees jointly awarded by both the British and the Cypriot University of UCLan, fully validated by both countries.

Programmes Offered

UCLan Cyprus offers subjects in Business(Accounting and Finance, Hospitality and Tourism Management and Business Administration with specialisations in business & management, business information systems, and international business communication), in Law and in Mathematics and Computing (with specialisations in software engineering, computer games development and computer network technologies), Master of Business Administration and Master of Artsin Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) with Applied Linguistics. All courses will be delivered in the English language. Students will be taught by a team of exceptionally talented and PhD qualified academics with extensive research and international experience.



The University will establish a number of international Research Centres (based on UCLan's 30 world-class rated research centres) and engage with local and international communities and industries. Our academic faculty will make a vital contribution to disseminate research and global knowledge, helping to shape the world's future beyond academic life. The University of Central Lancashire has been awarded excellent ratings in the most recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE).



International Accreditation/Recognition

UCLan's Business and Management School works with key UK accounting professional bodies such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, 9 exemptions), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA, 9 exemptions) andThe Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), to maximise professional exemptions for those who wish to follow careers in the accounting professions. The Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) at the UCLan Cyprus is the only one in the country that has been accredited by the Joint Academic Stage Board (JASB) of England and Wales. The JASB represents the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Bar Standards Board (respectively the regulatory bodies for solicitors and barristers in England and Wales). UCLan is ranked amongst the Top 200 Elite Universities of the World for the subject Law in the ‘QS World Rankings 2012'. The Bachelor of Mathematics degree is accredited by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA), and is listed in the 5thposition according to the ‘Guardian League Table 2012'.
